Hormonal Acne is a Very Common Cause of Pimples

One of the most common types of acne is hormonal acne. If you suffer from hormonal acne there may be a number of things that are going in on your life to be causing the problem. Hormonal acne can occur when you are going through puberty in your teenage years. In fact, this is one of the most common times when people suffer from acne, and often it is the only time throughout life when acne is a problem.

Hormonal acne cannot be helped. When your body goes through changes such as puberty, pregnancy or even menopause, the oil glands in your body may begin to over produce oil which in turn will start to clog your pores and cause pimples and acne. It can be very hard to control acne that is caused for hormonal reasons, in many cases you may have to seek professional help.

Oral antibiotics can help to dry out the skin, and in turn dry out the excess oil that is being produced by the oil glands in the skin. However, if you are experiencing hormonal acne due to pregnancy, it is not a good idea to use oral antibiotics, in this case you may have to suffer through the pimples and wait for the problem to pass. The good news about hormonal acne is that it generally will go away when your hormones settle down.
